Is a list of property owners public record in Ohio?
Yes. Each Ohio county Auditor keeps the owner's name and the address the tax bill goes to, and Ohio's public records law (Ohio Revised Code 149.43) opens those records to anyone. These lists come from the Portage County Auditor's records.
How do I find absentee property owners?
Look for homes whose tax bill goes to a different address than the home. There are 4,906 of them in Portage County today. The Absentee owners list has every one, with the address where the owner gets mail.
How current is the data?
The Portage County Auditor's records as of October 23, 2026. The county posts new files each week; we check for a new one every Friday night. Every file shows its date.
Can I get just one ZIP code?
