Questions
Where does it come from?
The Belmont County Auditor's tax records and the Recorder's public index, updated nightly and weekly. The date on every file says which.
Who is left out?
Owners the Auditor protects by law, anyone who asked us not to mail them or to hide their name, owners who live in Vermont or Connecticut, and addresses with no ZIP code.
Can I see it before I pay?
Yes. The exact count and price show before checkout, and every product has a free sample file with the same columns.
How do I get the file?
It downloads the moment you pay, and stays in your account for 12 months. Wrong or empty? Full refund.
Can I use it to screen tenants or employees?
No. It is not a consumer report and may not be used to decide anyone's eligibility for housing, a job, credit or insurance.
What does county tax foreclosure mean?
The Auditor's file flags a parcel when the county has filed to foreclose on it for unpaid property taxes. Many owners pay, or set up a payment plan, before any sale. The flag does not mean a sale is scheduled.
How fresh is it?
The flag and the owners come from the Auditor's file; the amount owed comes from the county's delinquent list in the same file. Each file shows the date of the records it was built from.
Who is left out, and why?
Retired parcels, owners the Auditor protects by law, anyone who asked us not to mail them, and addresses with no ZIP code. They are removed before counting, so you never pay for them.
Two owners at one address?
They get one letter. The file has one row per mailing address, with every owner's name on it.
What format do I get?
A spreadsheet (CSV and Excel) and mailing labels for Avery 5160 sheets. Both are included in the price.
Can I download it again?
Yes, from Orders in your account, for 12 months.
